What role will you play?

Macquarie Asset Management have identified a need to hire a Sustainability Lead for their Portfolio Performance Group to oversee sustainability for EMEA Real Assets. This role will be the subject matter expert in the region, working in partnership with the global sustainability team and ensuring collaboration with asset management teams and portfolio company leadership. The Sustainability Lead responsibilities will span the spectrum from environmental and social due diligence, to integration of Sustainability across the investment lifecycle, to identifying value creation opportunities. 

What you offer

  • 8+ years’ experience in sustainability, including work across multiple sectors, and programme implementation at the portfolio level.
  • High level of expertise of sustainability standards and carbon reduction roadmaps / methodologies with experience in executing sustainability programmes including energy efficiency and emissions reduction.
  • Experience developing, deploying and refining portfolio-oriented sustainability programmes at the corporate, national or international level.
  • Development and execution of Environmental and Social aspects of transition plans including actions being undertaken to meet net zero commitments.
  • Experience engaging and collaborating with top leadership in global corporate clients, with an ability to build consensus and create buy-in for sustainability programmes through influence rather than direct authority, and confidence in challenging the status quo and driving transparency in communications.
  • An ability to take a pan portfolio view considering solutions and ideas that can be integrated across the portfolio, as well as being able to take a less than obvious approach or build entirely new solutions in exceptional cases.
