The Surveillance team within Macquarie's Risk Management Group provides business surveillance to Macquarie's operating businesses and support groups.

What role you will play?

You will be responsible for Electronic Communications and Voice surveillance, assist the wider surveillance team with the day-to-day analysis of firm activity, including electronic communications and relevant trades (firm, client and employee). Managing alerts, you will escalate matters of interest and following up issues to a successful conclusion while also working with local and global surveillance teams to improve the quality of alerts generated and remove “false positive” findings. Finally, you will ensure adequate documentation of alerts and their resolution are maintained, including generating reports assisting in ongoing development of system/user procedure manuals.

What you offer

  • A bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, and other related field of study
  • Relevant experience in compliance or any regulatory role. A focus on detection and review of potential risks especially market abuse and manipulation is a plus
  • Analytical and investigative mindset with a high attention to detail and the ability to concentrate for extended periods of time
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interpret complex verbal information.

In our Risk Management Group, you will be part of an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. Our divisions include behavioural risk, compliance, credit, financial crime risk, internal audit, market risk, operational risk and governance, prudential risk, and Risk Management Group central.
