Join our global Prudential Risk Team based in Sydney and play a key role in assessing, understanding and managing prudential regulation to support Line 1’s compliance with APRA prudential requirements.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Manager in the Australian Prudential Obligations team, you will work with a wide range of stakeholders providing line 2 oversight, review and challenge guidance across Financial Risks and support on APRA engagement. You will provide timely and accurate advice on APRA requirements and expectations to Macquarie’s businesses, including interpretation of prudential rules and review of new business/product transaction proposals for compliance with the applicable prudential standards and guidance.

You will take a leading role in key projects associated with Credit Risk, IRB and Capital, including assessing and implementing regulatory change across financial risks and contributing to change and uplift projects. As a Senior Manager, you will provide direction to businesses and support groups in relation to the governance, maintenance and oversight of Macquarie’s Prudential Framework and support APRA engagement, including responding to regular and ad-hoc queries and leading prudential reviews.

  • Strong understanding of financial risks and products, coupled with an understanding of the Australian prudential regulatory framework
  • Intellectual curiosity with the ability to grasp abstract concepts and think laterally with strong problem solving skills
  • Excellent attention to deal and written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience in a risk, regulatory, compliance or business focused role in Financial Services
  • Tertiary qualifications in finance, economics, accounting, law or a similar discipline.

In our Risk Management Group, you will be part of an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. Our divisions include Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Prudential Risk, and Risk Management Group Central.
