What role will you play?

As an intern with our Commodity Markets and Finance (CMF) team, you'll have the opportunity to develop your skills and build your career. The team provides risk management, lending and financing, and physical execution and logistics services across the energy, metals and agricultural sectors globally. The division also offers commodity-based index products to institutional investors.

As part of this program you will:
  • Help develop models and market research analysis to support project decision-making
  • Contribute to pricings and projects in commodities such as oil and petroleum products, originated in Macquarie offices globally
  • Assist the team in sector and market analysis to support traders and deal teams
  • Interact with other groups across Macquarie to obtain transaction and model approvals 


What does our program offer?

As part of this 14-16 week internship, you will:
  • Complete meaningful and challenging work allowing you to gain practical experience to tie into your theoretical knowledge from school.
  • Take part in an orientation where you’ll learn about Macquarie’s business groups with your fellow Macquarie interns and receive technical training. 
  • Receive support and guidance from your manager and aligned mentor. 
  • Participate in philanthropic and social events to connect you to our inclusive culture. 
  • Present a project you worked on during the program to senior management.  


What you offer
  • You have a unique perspective. We want to hear it. This internship is for students expecting to graduate between December 2025 – June 2026.
  • You are a critical thinker with strong numerical skills and can articulate your thoughts and ideas clearly.
  • You like to collaborate with others and are comfortable building strong working relationships.
  • You have an interest in financial services and bring a proactive, resourceful, and positive attitude as well as a strong work ethic.
  • You have a strong attention to detail with experience and comfort in Excel.
