The purpose of our Risk Management Group is clear - creating a better future by managing the risks of today and anticipating the risks of tomorrow. As an intern, you’ll join an independent central function responsible for objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks.
At Macquarie, we are working to create lasting value for our communities, our clients and our people. We are a global financial services group operating in 34 markets and with 55 years of unbroken profitability. You’ll be part of a supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drive outcomes.
What role will you play?
As an intern in the Risk Management Group, you’ll discover how a sound risk culture has been integral to Macquarie’s risk management framework since inception. This is a direct placement opportunity with our Credit team in Houston supporting our Commodity Markets and Finance Division, which provides a full spectrum offering to clients with exposure to commodities with risk management, financing, physical execution and logistics across the full spectrum of commodities and in all regions.
The Credit team manages and oversees the counterparty credit, equity and asset risks taken by Macquarie. This is delivered through the credit risk management framework that articulates the approach to assessment, approval, monitoring and reporting of these risks.
In this role, you will cover a portfolio of North American trading counterparties and actively communicate with the various trading desks to fully understand the risk nature of the transactions requiring analysis and approval. You will research, gather information and prepare credit review memos that are commensurate to the potential trade exposure and the credit quality of Macquarie’s counterparties.
What does our program offer?
As part of this ten-week internship with the Risk Management Group, you will:
- Complete meaningful and challenging work allowing you to gain practical experience to tie into your theoretical knowledge from school.
