Our media relations team for the EMEA region is integral to Macquarie Group's Corporate Affairs function. Based in London, you will collaborate with a small in-house media team, retained agencies, and the broader Corporate Affairs team to support media engagement across the region. You will work across Macquarie Asset Management, Macquarie Capital, and Commodities and Global Markets.

While Macquarie offers hybrid working for many of our roles, this role does require 3 days a week in our office location.

What role will you play?

As a Corporate Affairs Executive in the media relations team, you will manage a busy press office and lead specific campaigns and announcements. This includes writing press releases and other external materials, responding to media enquiries, and working closely with our three businesses in EMEA to identify proactive opportunities. You will also provide issues management support as required, building strong relationships with internal stakeholders and collaborating with the broader Corporate Affairs team. This is a 12-month fixed term contract position.

What you offer

  • 3-5 years of experience in media relations and external communications, ideally within financial services
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience in writing for an external audience in a corporate environment
  • Understanding of key issues impacting the current media landscape
  • A collaborative work style as part of a busy team, with the ability to also work autonomously on key tasks
  • A keenness to learn and a results-oriented approach to work
  • Foreign language skills would be considered a plus, but not a requirement
