Join our Data Transformation team in our Commodities and Global Markets, Technology department. We are delivering an exciting program of work to build an innovative and future-ready Data Platform that will help Macquarie businesses meet customer needs. As a Python Data/Software Engineer, you’ll be part of our dynamic and collaborative Engineering team.

What role will you play?

You’ll regularly exercise problem-solving skills and apply creative solutions to a varied range of technical problems. You will support the development of data pipelines and new platform features and play a critical role with our operational and business stakeholders. 

What you offer

  • Expertise in Python, with a proven track record of solving complex data problems using Python, and using complex SQL logic and analytical functions
  • Well-versed with data pipelines, ETL frameworks and processes, near-real time streaming, and data integration solutions
  • Expertise in cloud technologies, predominantly AWS, including services like Redshift, S3, Glue, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, Kafka
  • Good understanding of data governance principles, including metadata management, data quality, data security, and distributed frameworks with a proven implementation track record
  • Experience with containerisation using Docker and other tooling, and experience with Kubernetes
  • High standards of development including Test-Driven Development (TDD), Continuous Integration (CI), and Continuous Deployment (CD) tooling
  • Thorough understanding of Unix/Linux-based systems
  • Expertise in data pipeline orchestration using tools like Argo or Airflow.
