As a Platform Engineer on the Macquarie Asset Management Technology team, you will partner with the Macquarie Asset Management business and take part in end-to-end solution delivery.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will be a subject matter expert in our common platforms and contribute to their roadmaps and features, drive operational excellence and make the platforms easier for the broader community to consume. Additionally, you will work with our cloud control planes to integrate our platforms and the applications they support into the broader Macquarie cloud ecosystem and work in multiple hosting environments, primarily AWS and Kubernetes but also in SaaS platforms and GCP. You will develop and support APIs for our platforms, contribute to API frameworks and practices, and collaborate with other Platform Engineering teams to evolve the platforms and achieve enterprise-level synergies.

Salary range for this position: $125,000 to 165,000/Year. Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, peer and market data, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location. You may also be eligible for an annual discretionary incentive compensation award.

• Proficiency in Python and Go for building pipelines and microservices.
• Experience with: 

o AWS (core services, networking, IAM, etc.) and Kubernetes (container orchestration, EKS).

o GitOps tools like ArgoCD (current) and Flux (future).

o CI/CD pipelines with GitLab.

o Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools, especially Terraform.

o Observability tools (e.g., Grafana, Loki, Prometheus, Tempo).

o Workflow orchestration tools like Airflow.

o API Gateway solutions (e.g., Gloo Enterprise) and WAF (e.g., F5).

• Working knowledge of databases, APIs, and modern authentication/authorization mechanisms.
• Familiarity with Linux, shell scripting, load balancing, and basic networking concepts.
• Ability to design solutions considering user experience, automation, security, performance, resilience, cost, scale, and reusability.
• Understanding of design patterns, testing methodologies, and the overall SDLC. Comfort in proposing designs, gathering feedback, building reusable solutions, and documenting them effectively.
