Join our Engineering Enablers Technology team where you will leverage your extensive technical knowledge and pragmatic approach to software design and architecture to build and inspire the engineering function at Macquarie Bank. What role will you play?

As a Principal Engineer, you will drive the team's technical roadmap in alignment with organisational strategy and setting technical aspirations. You will architect and oversee scalable, resilient, and secure systems while championing engineering best practices and coding standards. You will mentor engineers to foster growth and technical excellence, exemplified through code reviews. Advocate for system and process improvements and leverage new technologies, especially in AI.

You will collaborate with product managers and stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions and influence decisions. Ensure system reliability, security, and compliance with regulations, managing incidents and promoting continuous improvement.

What you offer

  • Experience as an engineering tech leader with a deep understanding of building highly scalable, secure, and resilient systems within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong engineering capability, deep understanding of software design, architecture and modern software development practices
  • Proven track record of designing, building, and operating complex, high-performance systems at scale, ideally within a fast-paced organisation, ability to anticipate extensibility and scale into solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire high-performing engineering teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and technical excellence
  • Ability to translate business needs into scalable technical solutions while understanding and anticipating extensibility into solutions.
