Join our small and high performing Quantitative Strategy team and make an impact in the dynamic world of commodities trading. You’ll be part of Macquarie’s Commodities and Global Markets division, supporting the APAC Power, Gas, and Carbon business.

What role will you play?

You will leverage your software engineering expertise and knowledge of commodities markets to deliver cutting-edge solutions that unlock revenue-generating opportunities. Co-located with the trading desk, you will collaborate closely with traders and managers to design, build, deploy, and support systems that drive business success. You will own the end-to-end software delivery lifecycle, from gathering requirements and development to testing and production deployment, directly influencing trading operations, risk management, and analytics in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.

  • Exceptional software engineering and computer science skills, with a strong ability to write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Desire to take ownership of the entire software delivery lifecycle, including requirements gathering, development, testing, deployment, and production support
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset, with eagerness to work directly with traders and business managers
  • Working understanding of finance and commodities markets, and a keen interest in applying technology to solve business challenges.
  • 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering or a related field.
