Join our Model Risk Management team based in Sydney who have global responsibility for the governance, oversight and validation of a diverse range of models used across Macquarie Group.

What role will you play?

The role provides an impactful opportunity within a dynamic environment to enhance and shape efficient and effective model risk management practices. You will play an instrumental role in the development and oversight of frameworks and processes used to manage model risk, facilitating cross functional consultation and adoption by working closely with a wide range of senior stakeholders.

Your mandate will link to many aspects of the model risk management framework, such as reporting, monitoring and oversight. You will be involved in the creation and maintenance of policies and standards aligned to internal and external requirements, strategic projects to drive the continuous improvement of model risk practices, preparing reports and presentations to senior management and governance committees, oversight of policy adherence across the organisation as well as supporting the maintenance and optimisation of systems and processes.

  • Strong knowledge and experience in developing, maintaining, and administering frameworks or risk governance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex concepts in a clear and concise form to all levels of audience and demonstrable experience in senior management reporting.
  • Proven track record in model risk management, with sound knowledge of model risk metrics, controls and industry standards.
  • Highly collaborative and able to engage with cross-functional teams.
  • Detail orientated mindset with strong organisational skills alongside the ability to formulate strategic solutions, prioritise and adapt to changing priorities.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, internal audit, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
