Join our Compliance team, which is part of the Risk Management Group and provides independent oversight to ensure risks are effectively identified and managed across our organisation. We support the Macquarie Capital business in Japan while working closely with regional and global colleagues to deliver consistent compliance outcomes.

What role will you play?

You will provide compliance advice, monitoring and oversight to support the business, working closely with front office teams, responding to regulatory enquiries, conducting monitoring and control reviews, and maintaining strong policies, procedures and training programmes. You will also contribute to regional projects and play an active role in strengthening our control environment.

What you offer

  • 5 years’ of experience in compliance covering cash equities brokerage and/or investment banking businesses within a financial institution
  • Strong understanding of Japanese capital markets and related laws and regulations
  • A team player with the ability to work in partnership with business and functions in the region and globally, as well as compliance colleagues locally and regionally
  • Experience engaging with regulators such as FSA, TSE, and JSDA, and supporting regulatory inspections
  • Complete proficiency in Japanese and business level English communication skills
  • Strong analytical thinking, stakeholder management and ability to learn new concepts quickly.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. We are a global team that aims to manage the risks of today and anticipate the risks of tomorrow. Our divisions include compliance, credit, financial crime risk, market risk, operational risk, aggregate risk and prudential, and central.
