Join Macquarie’s Global Non Financial Risk team in Sydney, where you will play a key role in strengthening and sustaining the Group’s approach to model risk management and AI risk governance. You will be part of an independent and centralised risk function, with responsibility for providing objective oversight, review and credible challenge in relation to material model risk and AI risk matters across the Group. This role focuses on ensuring that AI use cases and traditional models are developed, used, and governed in line with Macquarie’s risk appetite, policy expectations, and regulatory obligations, while enabling responsible innovation and commercial outcomes.

As part of this team, you will contribute to the development and ongoing operation of frameworks that support model risk management and the governance of artificial intelligence solutions across the organisation. You will help design and enhance policies, controls and processes, ensuring they remain practical and effective as technology evolves. Working closely with stakeholders, you will provide independent review and constructive challenge on complex risk matters, translating technical, ethical and regulatory considerations into clear, decision-focused advice. You will also support reporting and oversight activities, monitor emerging developments, and help ensure that governance practices remain robust, proportionate and aligned with business objectives.

  • Demonstrable experience in model risk management, technology risk, AI governance, or adjacent risk disciplines within a complex organisation
  • Critical thinking, with the proven ability to form independent judgement and to make sound, commercial decisions balancing risks and rewards with a robust governance framework
  • Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and negotiating skills, with the ability to engage, influence, and build trust with a wide variety of audiences
  • Formal qualifications or specific AI credentials are welcome but not determinative -we place greater value on demonstrated judgment and learning agility and real world impact.
