The Treasury Hedge Accounting team sits within the broader Finance division, working closely with Group Treasury, Financial Reporting, Technical Accounting, and Risk Management. Our work is critical to minimising earnings volatility, meeting regulatory requirements, and supporting Macquarie’s reputation for financial integrity.

What role will you play?

Lead and oversee the end-to-end hedge accounting process for exposures arising from Macquarie’s net investment in foreign operations, ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and accurate financial reporting. Collaborate with Group Treasury, Finance, and Tax teams to design, implement, and monitor effective hedging strategies, while providing expert guidance on complex hedge accounting issues related to Macquarie’s legal entity and foreign operations structures. Approve hedge documentation, effectiveness testing, and accounting entries, and drive process improvements and automation initiatives to enhance advisory support. You will also oversee, develop, and mentor the team, supporting career growth and capability development within Macquarie.

• CA Qualified with 8+ years of experience ideally in audit, financial control or financial reporting within a Big Four Accountancy Firm
• Exceptional interpersonal and stakeholder management skills, with a collaborative mindset and a genuine interest in supporting delivery of initiatives which benefit our Group
• Strong attention to detail, with the ability to identify and focus on the key risks and issues and the ability to communicates complex concepts clearly and adapts messaging to diverse audiences
• Ability to manage competing priorities, transactions and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
• Prior experience in the application of IFRS or accounting standards to complex situations and structures in an advisory, commercial or financial reporting capacity is valuable.
