Join our Technical Advisory regulatory reporting function, supporting Macquarie's Balance Sheet and Statical Regulatory Reporting team ensuring compliance with reporting obligations to APRA, the RBA and ABS.

What role will you play?

In this role you will focus on interpreting regulatory requirements and being a trusted advisor for appropriate treatments and judgements. You will enable the Balance Sheet and Statistical Reporting function in ongoing compliance with regulatory reporting governance frameworks, policies and standards and provide assurance deep dives. You will also provide technical advisory support in the implementation of regulatory reporting changes and internal initiatives. Working closely with business and regulatory reporting teams you will be presenting recommendations to senior management, and engaging with external regulatory bodies as required.

In addition, you will champion one of the team’s focus areas such as regulatory developments (supporting horizon scanning and industry/APRA consultation), technical training or stakeholder engagement. 

What you offer

  • Tertiary degree in business or commerce and relevant accounting certification (CA/CPA) with 10+ years’ post-qualification experience in the financial services or investment banking industry
  • Extensive experience within a technical accounting and/or regulatory reporting role.  Financial or APRA (e.g. EFS) reporting, or APS310 audit experience is advantageous
  • Demonstrated experience in interpreting and advising on impacts of changes in standards to the business
  • Demonstrated people leader experience
  • Effective communication skills with an ability to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders articulating complex technical matters with simplicity.
