The Macquarie Systematic Investment team is a Global Equity Manager, delivering innovative quantitative investment solutions for institutional and retail clients for over 20 years. The team aspires to provide investor access to the best opportunities available in the equity market, and manages investment capabilities covering Australian, Developed and Emerging markets across a range of risk spectrums.

What role will you play?

Our Quantitative Research team are responsible for researching and developing systematic investment strategies which underpin our products. In your role, you will be responsible for generating new research ideas, testing, and implementing the research ideas using Python, and monitor the performance of our existing systematic models.
In addition to research, you will maintain and enhance existing quantitative systems and processes, prepare responses to client and consultant requests, and continually seek ways to add value to the overall investment process.

What you offer

  • 2-5+ years’ experience gained in a similar role, but experience in financial markets is not required
  • Strong academic results with a tertiary degree in maths, actuarial, engineering, science, IT or finance
  • High level programming skills in Python, SQL, Unix, MATLAB, R, or similar
  • A passion for and willingness to apply your skills to financial markets and a great interest in dealing with large datasets and finding exploitable patterns
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, you take a proactive and independent approach to your work.
