The Surveillance Team is part of our Risk Management Group and provides business surveillance to Macquarie's operating businesses and support groups.

What role will you play?

You will be responsible for undertaking Electronic Communications and Voice surveillance daily to assist the wider Surveillance team with the day-to-day analysis of firm activity, including electronic communications and relevant trades (firm, client and employee) as it pertains to communications in question.

 
You will also be required to manage the daily/weekly volume of alerts and escalate matters of interest and follow up issues to a successful conclusion. In addition, you will work with local and Global Surveillance teams to improve the quality of alerts generated and remove “false positive” findings.

By generating reports on statistics and escalations and assisting in ongoing development of system/yser procedure manuals, you will ensure that adequate documentation of alerts and their resolution are maintained.

What you offer

  • A degree in Business, Finance, Economics or similar
  • Relevant experience in a compliance or regulatory role with a focus in detection and review of potential risks, especially market abuse and manipulation, is an advantage
  • Analytical and investigative mindset
  • High attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex verbal information
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

In our Risk Management Group, you will be part of an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks. Our divisions include Compliance, Credit, Financial Crime Risk, Internal Audit, Market Risk, Operational Risk, Prudential Risk, and Risk Management Group Central.
