Join our highly rated Equity Research team in Kuala Lumpur and further expand our market reach across Asia. As a seasoned analyst, you will primarily be covering the Strategy and Financials sector while leading our talented team of analysts on the ground, driving strategic research direction and strengthening our Malaysia coverage in an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture.

What role will you play?

As a leader of a high-performing team, you will focus on maintaining Malaysia’s revenue contribution to our Asian Equities business and increasing client interests and business opportunities in Malaysia. By bringing in deep experience covering Malaysian markets, industry and corporate contacts, you will drive the strategic direction of our research, ensuring and uplifting the quality of our product, while providing leadership and mentorship in the team.

As a lead analyst covering Strategy, Financials and potentially other sectors and deal-driven research, you will assist our clients access those opportunities by conducting market analysis, financial modelling and provide differentiated insights to assist in our clients’ investment decisions regionally and globally. Working closely with research analysts, equity sales professionals and sales traders across the region, you will also be involved in identifying emerging themes, aligning and advocating for best practices, working in close collaboration with control functions to ensure all appropriate controls and governance are in place.

What you offer

  • A tertiary qualification in a quantitative, economics, finance, engineering or similar discipline
  • 10+ years’ relevant experience in equity research gained in either a sell-side or buy-side environment covering Malaysia markets
  • Proven track record of leading and managing a dynamic team
  • Exceptional writing and communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships with large corporate clients and internal teams with fluency in English
  • A commercially-minded, self-motivated lateral thinker with the ability to make sound judgements with multiple priorities and come up with innovative approaches.
