Join a team of experienced risk professionals and partner with our Equities business to drive a strong risk culture. Reporting into our Asia Regional Lead, you will work as the first line of defense to ensure that Operational Risk is managed effectively in line with our Operational Risk Management Frameworks and associated policies.

This is a 10-month fixed-term contract, focused on the execution of risks and controls assurance activities across Macquarie’s Global Equities business.

What role will you play?

Working directly with key stakeholders within our Equities business and Risk Management Group, you will assist with the development and planning of the Control Assurance program, provide first line assurance over critical controls for processes and test the appropriate controls have been implemented across risks such as Electronic Trading, Credit Limits, Sanctions, Client Money, Business Resilience and Regulatory Reporting. You will be responsible for scoping, developing, planning and executing assurance reviews, identifying pragmatic solutions and control improvements to identified risks and issues.

You’ll work closely with the business to ensure control assurance activities are tailored and findings are communicated and transparent to stakeholders. In addition, you will also build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and stakeholders, develop strong partnerships with subject matter experts, and contribute to refinement of the control assurance framework, identifying opportunities for improvement to achieve better risk and business outcomes.

What you offer

  • 5+ years’ experience in internal audit, controls based external audit, operational risk or similar assurance roles in the financial services sector, either in-house or working with clients in a professional services environment
  • Existing exposure to a trading environment with knowledge in Global Markets, preferably in Equities
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the capacity to initiate and lead conversations with business leaders and risk management colleagues regarding issues and assurance findings
  • A commercially-minded, problem-solving lateral thinker with the ability to grasp abstract concepts and complex situations and comfortable working within a dynamic, fast paced and enterprise agile environment.
