What role will you play?

In this pivotal role, you will be at the forefront of Macquarie's Commodities and Global Markets businesses, playing a crucial part in developing a deep comprehension of our financed emissions alongside identifying potential actions to address them. Your responsibilities will encompass the diligent extraction of data and its thorough documentation for audit purposes, alongside the development and application of advanced models for emissions data processing. You will use your data modelling skills to guarantee both the precision of our financed emissions reporting and effectiveness of our sustainability initiatives.
Additionally, you will be tasked with the coordination of internal and external reporting for Net Zero and Climate Risk whilst acting as a vital conduit for central support functions. In this role, you will be involved in engaging with senior Commodities and Global Markets stakeholders around financed emissions net zero target setting and climate strategy. As part of the team, you will also be involved in advisory work linked with climate policy and technology that supports Commodities and Global Markets commercial opportunities in decarbonisation.

What you offer

  • Tertiary qualifications in finance/accounting/actuary studies or relevant discipline with a strong academic record
  • 2+ years’ of experience in a similar role with an understanding of relevant frameworks and governance
  • Advanced Excel skills and understanding of data modelling
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills
  • Keen interest in climate and sustainability
