Join our Equity Research team in Jakarta and help deepen our footprint in Asia, leveraging the strengths of the Macquarie platform. You will be working as a writing analyst, covering Consumer, Retail, and/or other emerging sectors in Indonesia in an entrepreneurial and collaborative culture.

What role will you play?

Working directly with our Head of Research Indonesia, you will leverage your deep industry knowledge and contacts to identify exciting investment ideas within Consumer and Retail coverage with the opportunity to explore emerging sectors. You will assist our clients to access those opportunities by conducting market analysis, financial modelling and producing quality reports. You will engage with senior stakeholders of the companies covered, travel to develop industry contacts when available and service the largest institutional investors in the world on a daily basis. Given the coverage scope of the role, you’ll have the opportunity to explore highly detailed company analysis in addition to a wider, macro level view.

What you offer

  • A tertiary qualification in economics, finance or a similar discipline
  • 4+ years’ relevant experience gained within sell-side research, buy-side research, investment banking or similar environments; existing coverage in Consumer, Retail or related sectors would be an advantage
  • Exceptional communication skills with fluency in English and a track record of building solid relationships with international and domestic institutional clients as well as internal teams globally
  • Logical and analytical lateral thinker with a passion for equity research and strong drive to succeed
  • Strong team ethics and the desire to work within a fast-paced environment.
