Our global Non-Financial Risk division (Line 1 risk) provides advice, valued input and challenge across our Financial Management Group. Our role as the independent voice of risk aids staff in applying non-financial risk management best practices.

What role will you play?

You will play a leading role in the Group Treasury aligned Non-Financial Risk team across both transformation and business as usual activities for the division, with a focus on ensuring operational risk best practices are applied to the diverse range of activities undertaken by the function. Your role will include the interpretation and application of Group and Divisional policies to be applied to business-as-usual activities and timely escalation of operational risks, concerns and issues to local and global stakeholders, as required.

In addition, you will engage with stakeholders across the Financial Management Group, Risk Management Group and Commodities and Global Markets Business Unit and play a role in our Line 1 Risk and Control Uplift projects and programmes within Group Treasury to deliver a robust control framework that serves to mitigate operational risk in Group Treasury. You will ensure the effectiveness of our control environment, evaluate the relevant processes within Group Treasury and ensure that the associated risks and controls are properly designed and functioning.

What you offer

  • 10+ years’ experience in an operational risk or risk assurance role within a financial services environment
  • Strong understanding of Treasury and/or Finance function and related activities
  • Practical understanding of the implementation of risk and control frameworks to manage enterprise risks in highly regulated legal entities and across group structures
  • Excellent communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement
  • Previous projects and/or change management experience working in complex multi-faceted programs to firm deadlines.
