The mission of our Cyber Threat and Incident Response team is to enable Macquarie to operate safely within a challenging digital environment by detecting, investigating and responding to advanced cyber threats. Cyber Threat and Incident Response is made up of functional teams including Cyber Threat Defence Analysts, Cyber Threat Intelligence Analysts, Detection Engineers and Incident Responders, among others.

What role will you play?

We are looking for an Engineer to join our Technology and Innovation team. You will play a critical role in developing applications and managing platforms that support the mission of Cyber Threat and Incident Response. You will develop a strong understanding how teams in Cyber Threat and Incident Response use our technology platforms and services to provide teams with a deeper understanding of the threat landscape.

You will be designing, developing, and maintaining tools and services that ensure security telemetry is high quality and fit-for-purpose. You will work closely with the team to ensure the data is received and meets their evolving security needs. You will have the opportunity to work across a diverse set of data sources and collaborate with technical subject matter experts to integrate data into our analytics platforms.

What you offer

  • 5-10 years’ experience developing, configuring, and managing SIEM platforms, including: ensuring SIEM performance and scalability (experience in Splunk desirable); measuring, monitoring and addressing, system performance, capacity, availability, serviceability, and recoverability challenges and creating and managing custom alerts and dashboards.
  • Experience analysing and defining user requirements and specifications.
  • Experience in Python or similar scripting language, using that to build automated data onboarding, integration and automation workflows.
  • Ability to plan and deliver to challenging timelines, managing stakeholder expectations in the process (experience working in an Agile environment desirable).
  • Excellent listening and influencing skills, and flexibility to develop strong relationships with a complex set of global stakeholders (from working with detection engineers to tune alerts and develop use cases, to managing vendors).
