What role will you play?

As a member of the team, you will play a key role in analysing the risks in Macquarie’s large portfolio of credit exposures and providing strategic insights to Macquarie’s senior leadership and board members that will directly impact Macquarie’s risk appetite for new credit risk.

You will have responsibility for identifying relevant data sources, cleaning and preparing data, dealing regularly with business stakeholders for both data and insights using Alteryx, Excel VBA and similar systems. You will undertake modelling to produce insightful analysis for senior management and the Board and produce and deliver insights to senior stakeholders that support decision-making.

In addition, you will develop understanding of the business’s needs and work with team members and stakeholders to continuously improve existing processes or develop new approaches. You will also clearly communicate insights you draw from large data sets and articulate actionable outcomes.

  • Ability to solve complex problems, leveraging strong analytical skills and a critical mindset
  • Good understanding of investment and risk principles
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts to stakeholders at all levels
  • An eye for detail and take pride in getting the details right while remaining aware of the bigger picture
  • Degree in Quantitative discipline (mathematics, statistics or similar.), or finance, economics or similar.
