Join our Global Business Compliance Team based in Sydney, responsible for ensuring that all activities within the Macquarie Capital Equities business comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies.

This role is a 12-month contract position.

What role will you play?

As a Senior Manager, you will act as a primary point of contact for compliance related queries, providing guidance to the Equities business, ensuring they adhere to all applicable regulations, industry standards and internal policies.

You will conduct regular monitoring of trading and reviews of business activities to detect and address any compliance issues and develop and provide training to staff of compliance requirements and best practices. You will also engage with internal stakeholders, including Legal, Operations teams and the Business to address compliance-related matters and provide appropriate advice.

In addition, you will identify and assess existing and emerging compliance risks and regulatory change impacting the Equities business and implement appropriate actions to mitigate these risks. You will lead and support regulatory engagement, and deliver training and awareness programs to promote a strong compliance culture within the Equities Business.

  • Prior experience in a Compliance/Risk Management role within the Financial Services Industry, with Equities experience is preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Law, Commerce or a related field
  • Deep understanding of regulatory frameworks and requirements governing the Equities markets
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex regulatory issues and provide practical solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership experience, with a demonstrated ability to mentor and develop high-performing teams.
