The Balance Sheet Management and Interest Rate Risk team operates across high-impact areas within Banking and Financial Services Treasury. Leveraging advanced financial and analytical expertise, we focus on optimizing and monitoring balance sheet opportunities to support the growth and dynamism of a rapidly expanding bank.

What role will you play?

You will collaborate closely with the Finance, Product, and Group Treasury teams to optimise and monitor the cost of funds and balance sheet outcomes. By developing a deep understanding of the drivers behind a bank’s Profit and Loss, you will leverage your analytical and financial modelling expertise to deliver valuable risk and commercial insights to senior stakeholders, supporting strategic decision-making processes.

Your responsibilities will include the modelling and optimisation of the bank’s balance sheet, ensuring efficient allocation of resources and maximisation of financial performance. Additionally, you will oversee the hedging of fixed-rate lending and deposit products, while monitoring interest rate risk metrics to ensure compliance with established limits. This role provides a unique opportunity to contribute to the bank’s financial stability and growth through advanced risk management and analytical capabilities.

What you offer

  • Strong academic background in a financial or quantitative degree such as accounting, finance, engineering, actuarial, or mathematics.
  • 3+ years of experience in a Treasury-related role
  • Good understanding of financial markets and key risk factors for financial products, including banking products and interest rate derivatives
  • Strong understanding of treasury concepts, including Cost of Funds, Transfer Pricing, and Interest Rate Risk in the Banking Book
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts in simple language to senior stakeholders
  • Experience in SQL and a language such as R/Python is valuable.
