Non-Financial Risk (NFR) provides an independent voice of risk to the CFO, Financial Management, People and Engagement and Macquarie, empowering our people to manage their risks within appetite.

We partner with all Financial Management, People and Engagement divisions to enable a preventative risk management approach through identification, measurement and remediation of risk. We actively engage with Macquarie's risk community to enhance the integration of best practices for risk management and enable our people to manage risk proportionately and consistently within appetite. We provide expert guidance and challenge teams to drive strong risk management and risk culture.

What role will you play?

You will drive risk uplift, mature practices and partner with varying stakeholder groups to ensure that risk is managed proactively, identify gaps and help streamline approaches. You will drive and partake in strategic risk initiatives across AI, Technology, Cyber, Data, Design and Engineering and the wider NFR team to play a key role in meeting its strategic objectives.

You will have the opportunity to develop and execute practical risk management strategies, with end-to-end ownership. In this high‑impact role, you bring strong technical foundations and apply them practically in a strategic and broader business context.

What you offer

  • 10+ years of data management, technology or risk experience gained from another technical domains such as cyber, engineering, architecture, etc
  • Delivery and transformation change experience gained from large complex, business led, technology enabled paradigms
  • Strong risk and control fundamentals with the ability to influence and negotiate with wide stakeholder groups Experience gained from business owned control functions, product management, line 1 risk or audit would be valuable
  • Demonstrated experience in ability to break down complex problems, develop approaches, seek buy in and deliver to a roadmap
  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to understand and abstract technical information and transform into commonly understood business language, with production of high-quality outputs.
  • You are versatile, can thrive in ambiguity and drive outcomes through application of your knowledge across technology risk, information security, cyber, data and resilience.
