What role will you play?

As a Manager within Operational Risk, you will contribute to enterprise-level data risk oversight, supporting a consistent, Group-wide view of data risk and the effectiveness of risk management practices. You will collaborate with business, data and functional teams to deliver independent insights, challenge existing approaches where appropriate, and promote a balanced, risk-based approach to managing data risk.

In this role, you will help develop a comprehensive view of data risk exposures, identify emerging trends and systemic risks, and provide clear, forward-looking insights to support senior decision-making. You will also contribute to the development and enhancement of data risk frameworks, policies and governance processes, ensuring consistency across the organisation. Your work will support effective reporting, regulatory engagement and the continuous strengthening of control environments.

What you offer

  • Experience in data risk, data management or operational risk within a regulated environment, with an understanding of governance and risk frameworks (e.g. CPS 234)
  • The ability to interpret detailed risk information and translate it into clear, enterprise-level insights and themes
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to synthesise information from multiple sources and identify trends or emerging risks
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to present complex information clearly and constructively challenge stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach, with the ability to work across diverse teams and apply sound judgement in a fast-paced environment.

Our Risk Management Group works as an independent, and centralised function, responsible for independent and objective review and challenge, oversight, monitoring and reporting in relation to Macquarie’s material risks.
